Wattson Audio

Swiss precision. Musical soul. Minimalist design with surprising depth.

Wattson Audio builds components that disappear into the music. Designed and engineered in Préverenges, Switzerland, their products blend the discipline of high-end Swiss engineering with an unshakeable focus on musical enjoyment. The team behind Wattson works closely alongside the minds responsible for CH Precision’s world-class electronics; two groups sharing a single vision and a belief that true expression begins with purity, stability, and simplicity.

This is hi-fi stripped to its essentials: compact, beautifully engineered, and purpose-built. No excess. No noise. Just the clarity, energy, and emotion of the performance.

Backbeat is proud to be an authorized Wattson dealer with inventory ready for audition here in Portland.

Madison Amplifier

The Madison Amplifier is a reference-class stereo power amplifier developed in close collaboration with the acclaimed high-end audio manufacturer CH Precision. Representing the next evolution in Wattson’s growing line of precision-crafted audio equipment, the Madison Amplifier delivers a powerful yet refined listening experience that preserves every detail of the original recording.

The Madison Amplifier delivers 50 watts per channel into 8 ohms, offering more than enough headroom to drive complex loudspeakers with confidence and control. The amplifier is a true dual-mono design Class A/B topology, tuned to deliver rich harmonics, expansive soundstage depth, and ultra-low distortion.

Madison DAC

The Madison Streamer is the piece in the Wattson lineup that makes you forget you’re listening to digital at all. Its appeal isn’t just resolution or format support; it’s the way it shapes a musical performance with ease, flow, and emotional presence.

There’s a natural coherence to the Madison’s sound. Voices step forward with clarity and texture. Instruments lock into space without ever feeling etched. Rhythms breathe. Microdetail emerges from a quiet, stable background, giving recordings a sense of effortless motion. It’s the rare digital source that reveals more without sounding analytical.

All of this comes from Wattson’s disciplined engineering: ultra-low noise architecture, precision clocking, and a minimalist analog output stage kept intentionally simple to preserve musical integrity. Add the Madison Power S and the presentation expands even further—blacker backgrounds, finer contrast, and a deeper sense of calm around the notes.

Madison Power S

Deeper contrast. More lifelike music.

The Madison Power S reveals what the Madison Streamer is truly capable of. Drawing directly from the same engineering philosophy that defines CH Precision’s reference-grade power systems, it delivers cleaner, more stable energy—transforming not just the electrical foundation of the streamer, but the way the music emerges from it.

Wattson describes the Power S as an “expression of how we think about energy and emotion.” When power is delivered with absolute control and silence, the music that follows becomes “more lifelike, more effortless, and more complete.”

The audible impact is blacker backgrounds, greater low-level detail, more natural dynamic contrast, improved flow and coherence, and a calmer, more confident presentation. All of it comes from a compact component designed as the Madison Streamer’s natural companion.

New Finish Options

Two shades of Swiss precision.

Light Grey

A clean, modern tone that highlights the precision machining and subtle curves of the chassis. It brings a sense of openness and blends effortlessly into contemporary systems.

Both finishes stay true to Wattson’s philosophy: refined, elegant, and built to disappear into the listening experience.

The Madison series now introduces two understated grey finishes. A first for Wattson’s flagship line. Both options reflect the brand’s minimalist design ethos, letting the form and the music take center stage.

Dark Grey

A richer, more architectural shade that gives the Madison components a grounded, purposeful presence. Its low-reflective surface emphasizes the quiet sophistication of the design.
