Backbeat Audio offers setup, optimization and in-home services to help make sure your system is working at its best in your room. Whether we’re setting up a turntable, working with a system you’ve owned for years, or bringing something over to hear at home, the same listening-centered approach follows the equipment out of the studio.
System Setup and Optimization
A great stereo is more than a collection of components. How those components work together, how they’re set up and where they sit in the room can matter every bit as much as what you bought.
Backbeat Audio offers hands-on help with stereo setup and optimization throughout the Portland area. We can work through loudspeaker placement, listening position, component setup and other variables that determine how a stereo behaves in the room. That might happen as part of delivering a new system, or as a fresh look at a system assembled over many years.
Whether we’re putting together a new system or helping you get the most from equipment you already own, the goal is the same: understand what the system is capable of and make sure setup and placement aren’t standing in the way.
Turntable and Cartridge Setup
A turntable asks more of its owner than most components in a stereo. Cartridge alignment, phono stage setup and tonearm adjustment all affect how much the turntable is able to retrieve from the record.
Backbeat Audio can install and align cartridges, set up tonearms and turntables, and help sort through cartridge, tonearm and phono-stage matching. That includes equipment purchased from Backbeat as well as turntables and cartridges you already own.
Turntable and cartridge setup is included with applicable purchases from Backbeat.
In-Home Listening & Demonstrations
A listening session at Backbeat is a useful way to understand a component. Sometimes the more important question is what happens when that component enters your room and your system.
For appropriate equipment and locations, we’re happy to arrange in-home demonstrations and evaluations at no extra charge.
Local delivery and setup of equipment purchased from Backbeat is also complimentary.
Help Beyond Portland
Most of our work happens in and around Portland, but not all of it.
By arrangement, Backbeat can provide delivery, setup and system work elsewhere in the Pacific Northwest. More involved visits can be structured around the work required, whether that’s installing equipment, setting up an analog front end or spending the day working through an entire system.
