Wattson Madison Power S
The Madison Power S from Wattson Audio is a precision external power supply designed to unlock the full performance potential of Wattson’s digital sources. Developed alongside the Madison platform and drawing on engineering expertise shared with CH Precision, the Power S delivers exceptionally clean, stable power to the components that matter most in audio playback.
By lowering noise and stabilizing current delivery, the Madison Power S allows Wattson source components to operate in a quieter electrical environment - revealing greater clarity, dynamic expression, and spatial precision throughout the music.
Compatible with current and future Wattson source components, the Power S provides a long-term upgrade path for listeners seeking the highest level of performance from their music systems.
Hybrid Power Architecture
Inside the Power S, Wattson implements a hybrid power design that combines the efficiency of modern switching regulation with the precision and low noise characteristics of linear control stages.
High-frequency switching regulation provides efficient energy conversion and stable baseline regulation, while discrete linear stages refine the output and remove residual noise before the power reaches the connected audio component.
This architecture delivers the benefits of both approaches:
exceptional electrical efficiency
extremely low output noise
stable voltage delivery under dynamic load conditions
The result is a power supply capable of supporting the demanding requirements of high-performance audio circuits.
Listening
When paired with a Wattson streamer, the Madison Power S lowers the system’s noise floor and improves overall power stability. The audible result is a presentation with greater clarity, enhanced dynamic contrast, and improved spatial focus.
Backgrounds become quieter, allowing low-level detail and harmonic textures to emerge more naturally. Transients gain definition, and the soundstage develops stronger dimensional structure with more precise placement of instruments and voices.
Rather than changing the character of the system, the Power S allows the source component to reveal more of the information already contained in the recording.
