Thorens TD 1500
Suspended. Reimagined.
The TD 1500 carries forward one of Thorens’ most enduring ideas: isolate the music from the world around it. This is a modern, suspended-subchassis turntable; belt-driven, beautifully balanced, and engineered to let tone, timing, and texture unfold without interference. It honors its lineage, but it performs squarely in the present. The TD1500 comes equipped with the TD150 tonearm and Ortofon 2M Bronze moving magnet cartridge.
A Classic Principle, Executed for Today
The TD 1500 traces its lineage to the original TD 150, the table that helped define the suspended-subchassis approach. The goal is simple: decouple the platter and tonearm from environmental vibration so the cartridge sees only the groove.
In practice, that means a quieter backdrop and a more dimensional presentation. Notes emerge from stillness. Spatial cues linger. The flow feels natural and unforced.
This isn’t about hi-fi fireworks. It’s about preserving musical coherence.
Belt Drive with Intent
The precision belt-drive system prioritizes smoothness and isolation. Electronic speed selection allows easy switching between 33⅓ and 45 RPM while maintaining pitch stability.
There’s a sense of suppleness here. Bass is full yet controlled, midrange textures feel organic, and transients arrive without glare. It’s an inviting balance that encourages long listening sessions.
The TP 150 Tonearm
Fitted with Thorens’ TP 150 tonearm, the TD 1500 offers full adjustability, including VTA and azimuth. Careful cartridge setup is rewarded with greater clarity, focus, and tonal nuance.
This is a table that scales with your system.
Included: Ortofon 2M Bronze
The TD 1500 comes fitted with the Ortofon 2M Bronze - an accomplished moving magnet cartridge known for its precision, balance, and tonal refinement.
At its core is a nude fine line stylus, designed to trace the groove with exceptional accuracy. The result is extended high-frequency detail, articulate midrange texture, and bass that is controlled without feeling restrained. Surface noise stays low, inner grooves remain composed, and complex passages hold together with clarity.
