Wharfdale
British loudspeakers with soul and substance
For more than ninety years, Wharfedale has been at the heart of British hi-fi — a name synonymous with craftsmanship, warmth, and musical honesty. Founded in 1932, the company helped shape the golden age of stereo, building speakers that balanced innovation with the simple pleasure of listening.
Today, Wharfedale’s Heritage Series revives that spirit with modern engineering and timeless style. Classic wood veneers, carefully voiced drivers, and thoughtful cabinet design create loudspeakers that look as good as they sound — the perfect complement to the Quad amplifiers they were born to partner with.
Linton 85
A modern classic built for real listening
Few loudspeakers capture the spirit of vintage hi-fi like the Wharfedale Linton 85. Reintroduced for the brand’s 85th anniversary, it pairs timeless mid-century styling with acoustic refinement born of nearly a century of British loudspeaker design.
The Linton’s hand-matched veneer, inset grille, and custom steel-and-wood stand speak to its heritage, while its sound is unmistakably modern — open, expressive, and effortless. A three-way design with an 8-inch woven Kevlar woofer, 5-inch Kevlar midrange, and 1-inch soft-dome tweeter delivers rich low-end weight, lifelike vocals, and finely detailed highs. Sensitivity is a generous 90 dB, making it an easy match for classic or contemporary amplifiers alike.
At once furniture and instrument, the Linton 85 brings scale, warmth, and musical ease to every room — a speaker that invites you to sit back, relax, and rediscover the simple pleasure of listening. Available in walnut, mahogany and black oak.
